Scheduling posts with the Content Planner is only available to Canva Pro, Canva for Teams, and Canva for Nonprofits users. But everyone can share designs on Instagram from the Canva editor.
To schedule designs to post on Instagram, you need an Instagram Business account – not an Instagram Creator account – that's linked to a Facebook page as required by Instagram.
Step 1: Set up an Instagram Business account
Convert your personal profile to a Business account from your Instagram account settings, or set up a new Instagram Business account from scratch.
A Business account isn't the same as a Creator account. To successfully schedule posts, get or switch to a Business account.
Step 2: Link your Instagram Business account to a Facebook page
This isn’t necessary to set up an Instagram Business account, but it’s required to schedule posts on Instagram with Canva. Skipping linking to a Facebook page will cause errors.
Step 3: Schedule posts to Instagram
Once your Instagram Business account is set up, you can now schedule posts.
What to expect
- You can schedule up to 25 posts in a rolling 24-hour period.
- You can use a maximum of 20 hashtags in your scheduled caption.
- Only Instagram Business accounts associated with your currently linked Facebook account will be available – and you can only have one Facebook account linked to Canva at any one time.
- Instagram Creator accounts are not supported at this time.
- Multiple Facebook accounts with associated Instagram Business accounts are not yet supported.
Can I schedule Instagram Stories and Reels?
For now, Instagram doesn’t allow scheduling Stories and Reels. But you can still share Stories and Reels using the Canva mobile apps if you also have Instagram installed on the same device.
Can I schedule to post Galleries?
No. Currently, they’re not supported by Instagram. You can only schedule single video or image posts.
